Queen-Rearing Calendar
Raising your own queens means grafting young larvae into queen cups and letting a strong colony raise them into mated, laying queens. Every step after that — moving cells to a finisher, protecting them while they're capped, releasing virgin queens into mating nucs — happens on a fixed timeline set by the day you graft. Missing a window by even a day or two can cost you the batch, so it helps to have the whole schedule mapped out in advance.
Enter your graft date below and the tool will lay out the full schedule — from making up the cell starter through mating flights and the first check for brood.
Log in to your account to unlock optional graft-tracking fields (graft name, cells grafted, source hive) if you're running multiple grafts this season.

This schedule is a typical-case guide. Actual timing varies with temperature, colony strength, and weather — especially mating flights.
